Civil aircraft maintenance licences are issued under the following categories:
Category A
Scheduled Line Maintenance
The Category A licence permits the holder to certify scheduled aircraft line maintenance and simple defect rectification.
Category B1
Mechanical Systems
The Category B1 licence permits the holder to certify maintenance work carried out on aircraft structure, powerplant, mechanical and electrical systems.
Category B2
Avionics
The Category B2 licence permits the holder to certify maintenance work carried out on aircraft avionic and electrical systems.
